# Quantity and multi-quantity items

> How Treecat keeps one quantity in sync across marketplaces, how to keep an item listed when you have more in stock, and what to do when quantity sync fails.

Each Treecat item has one available quantity that is shared by all its marketplace listings. Every sale lowers it by the quantity sold, and when it reaches zero the other listings are delisted. Change the quantity in Treecat and it is updated on every marketplace where the item is listed.

## How does quantity sync work?

- A sale on any marketplace lowers the item's quantity by the amount sold.
- While the quantity is above zero, the other listings stay up with the new quantity.
- At zero, the listings on your other marketplaces are queued for delisting. See [How fast does Treecat delist an item?](https://wiki.treecat.io/how-fast-does-auto-delist-work)
- Each item's **Events** timeline shows what was updated and when.

Quantity only stays in sync for listings that are linked as one item; see [Matching](https://wiki.treecat.io/match-listings-across-marketplaces).

## I sold the last one but have more in stock. How do I keep it listed?

1. Open the item, from the Sales page or Inventory.
2. Increase the quantity and save.
3. Treecat updates the quantity on every marketplace where it is listed.

If the item had already been delisted, use **List** or **Relist** to put it back up.

## Change the quantity on many items

Select the items on the Inventory page and choose **⋯ → Update Quantity**. Treecat updates every marketplace the items are listed on.

## Quantities have drifted between marketplaces

Select the items in Inventory (or the sales on the Sales page) and use **Confirm Quantity**. Treecat pushes the Treecat quantity to every live listing: it delists where the quantity is 0, and keeps or relists where it is above 0. Listings on Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy are updated by the agent in the background, so they change over the next few minutes.

To take the quantity **from** a marketplace instead, select the items, click **Import**, choose that one marketplace and tick **Quantity only**.

## "Quantity sync failed" on an item

If a quantity update stopped partway, the item page shows a red **Quantity sync failed** banner with the quantity Treecat had at the time and the marketplace's message. Fix the cause (for example bring the agent online or reconnect the marketplace), then click **Review quantity** on the banner and confirm the quantity to run the update again.

On the Sales page, the **Qty sync** filter finds every sale whose quantity sync failed. See [An item sold but is still listed](https://wiki.treecat.io/item-sold-but-still-listed).

## Does Treecat support multi-variation listings?

No. Listings with several variations (for example one listing with several sizes) are not imported, so handle their delisting manually.

## Amazon FBA stock

Items stored and shipped by Amazon can be found with the **Fulfillment** filter. See [Find items with filters](https://wiki.treecat.io/find-items-with-filters).
