Treecat has no monthly subscription. You pay **one fee per sale**, and only when the item that sold had a Treecat action on it, such as listing it from Treecat, crosslisting, scheduled delist/relist, Poshmark closet sharing or AI listing. Importing, storing any number of items, guest accounts and auto-delisting are free. The fee starts at $0.60 per sale and drops with volume.

## What counts as a billable event
A billable event is a Treecat action on an item that makes its eventual sale billable. When the item sells, Treecat charges **one** fee, no matter how many of these happened:

- **Crosslisting:** the item is listed on more than one marketplace, including listings you imported and then linked with [Matching](https://wiki.treecat.io/match-listings-across-marketplaces). A second account on the same marketplace does not count as crosslisting.
- **Listing from Treecat:** Treecat listed or relisted the item, even on a single marketplace. On Mercari and Poshmark, pushing changes to a live listing with **Update** counts as a listing too; on the other marketplaces an update does not make a sale billable by itself.
- **Scheduled delist / relist** run by Treecat.
- **Poshmark closet sharing** run by Treecat.
- **AI listing:** Autofill, Image Autofill or AI images.
- **Photo editing** done by Treecat.
- **A Move that lists the item on another account:** a [Move](https://wiki.treecat.io/move-listings-between-accounts) with **Delist here and list on the destination**. A Move that only takes the listing down (**Delist here and keep unlisted**) does not.

Using one billable feature unlocks all the others for that item at no extra charge.

> **Note:** If an item sells that never had any of these, there is no charge. Items you only import, without matching them or using any other action, are not charged.

## Per-sale rates
| Billable sales this month | Per sale | With an affiliate promo code |
|---|---|---|
| 1–30 | $0.60 | $0.50 |
| 31–100 | $0.42 | $0.35 |
| 101–140 | $0.30 | $0.25 |
| 141+ | $0.06 | $0.05 |

Each rate applies to the sales inside its band. For example, 50 billable sales in a month cost 30 × $0.60 + 20 × $0.42 = $26.40.

Check **Settings → Billing** for what applies to your account. To add a promo code, see [Billing, payment methods and promo codes](https://wiki.treecat.io/billing-payment-and-promo-codes).

## What is always free
- Importing your existing listings and sales history
- Any number of items, photos and listings, with no inventory limit
- Auto-delisting after a sale
- Unlimited guest accounts
- Running Matching, Fix Duplicates, Confirm Quantity and exports. These cost nothing in themselves; an item you matched across marketplaces is billable when it sells, like any crosslisted item.
- Keeping archived listings and backups of inactive listings

## When you are charged
Charges follow the sales Treecat detects. Sales from one month are billed at the start of the next month, so January sales appear on the February bill. You can see your running total in **Settings → Billing** (Billing & usage), where you can also preview and download invoices.

## Why was I billed for an item I did not crosslist?

Any item that Treecat listed, relisted or moved onto another account, or that is linked across marketplaces, is billable when it sells, even if it is listed on only one marketplace or you first listed it directly on the marketplace. Open the sale on the **Sales** page: its details say whether it was **Billed** or **Not billable**, and the **Type** of action that made it billable. If you think a charge is wrong, for example an order that failed or was cancelled, email support@treecat.io with the Treecat URL of the sale (copy it from the browser address bar) and Treecat support will review it.

## What if I sell on a marketplace Treecat does not support?

Treecat cannot see that sale. Set the item's quantity to 0 in Treecat, or delist it, so it comes down from your other marketplaces. There is no fee for that case.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a monthly subscription?

No. There is no subscription and no free-trial clock. You only pay per billable sale.

### Do I pay for every update or only when an item sells?

Only when an item sells. Listing, crosslisting and the other actions above cost nothing by themselves; they make that item's sale billable, once.

### Will I be charged twice if an item was crosslisted and also relisted?

No. A sale is charged once, whatever actions Treecat ran on the item.

### Is auto-delist an extra charge?

No. Auto-delist is part of crosslisting.

### Do guest accounts cost extra?

No. Guest accounts are free and unlimited, and billing is per sale, whoever did the work.
