Import your listings and sales
How to import listings and sales into Treecat, which import mode to choose, how often Treecat syncs on its own, and what cannot be imported.
Open the Inventory page, click Import, choose your marketplaces and click Start import; then do the same on the Sales page to bring in your sales history. Importing is free and has no item limit. After the first import, Treecat keeps importing for you: it checks for sales every 30 minutes and for new listings about once an hour.
Import your listings
- Open the Inventory page and click Import.
- Choose the marketplaces you want.
- Choose a mode (see below). Quick is right for a first import and for day-to-day use.
- Click Start import.
Which import mode should I use?
| Mode | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Quick | Imports only items Treecat has not seen before. Fastest. | First import and day to day. It cannot fix listings that have ended. |
| Full | Re-checks every listing Treecat already tracks, so deleted or ended listings change status. | To correct statuses. |
| Repair | Exhaustively re-fetches listings that are missing in Treecat, so your whole inventory is reflected. Most thorough and slowest. | When items are missing. |
| Quantity | Updates quantities for existing items. | When quantities look wrong. |
The Include images switch brings in listing photos. Quick and Repair include them by default; Full leaves them off so status updates run faster. Turn it on when you need photos.
Import your sales
On the Sales page, click Import, choose your marketplaces and a mode:
- Quick: new sales only. Fast.
- Full: re-fetches all historical sales.
- Refresh: refreshes the status of recent sales.
The very first sales import of a newly connected marketplace brings in your history. It does not delist anything, so old sales cannot pull live listings down by surprise.
How often does Treecat import on its own?
After your first import, Treecat keeps syncing around the clock from its servers:
- Sales: every 30 minutes, 24/7. This is what drives automatic delisting.
- New listings you created directly on a marketplace: about once an hour.
- Recent sales status: refreshed once a day.
You can click Import at any time to do it immediately. Agent-based marketplaces (Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace, Etsy) are only imported while the Treecat agent is online.
Import just a few items, or fix missing photos
- Select the items on the Inventory page.
- Click Import in the action bar.
- Choose the marketplace and tick Include images. Use Quantity only to replace just the quantity from one marketplace.
This re-imports only those items.
Why do my imported items seem out of date or in the wrong status?
Treecat does not know you deleted or ended a listing directly on a marketplace until it checks. Run a Full import to update statuses, or select just the affected items and use Import. Items that were ended elsewhere then appear as Ready to List or Archived, and you can filter for them.
Why does Treecat show far more items than I have listed?
Treecat imports your whole history from each marketplace, including ended and sold items, and they stay until you archive them. See Archive or delete items for how to clean up, and Fix duplicates if the same listing appears twice.
What can't Treecat import?
- Multi-variation listings are not supported, so they are not imported. Handle their delisting manually.
- Videos are not imported or created on Etsy or other marketplaces.
- Spreadsheets (CSV or XLS) cannot be imported. Treecat imports from the marketplaces you connect, and fields unique to another crosslisting tool cannot be brought in.
- Sold and inactive listings imported from Etsy, Facebook Marketplace and Walmart can show up. They are marked Archived so they stay out of your default views. You can archive any others yourself.
Next step
If you listed items on several marketplaces before using Treecat, match them so a sale on one delists the others.
