Reconnect a marketplace that shows as disconnected
Marketplace logins expire every few months. How to reconnect from Settings → Marketplaces, and what to do when a marketplace blocks or flags the login.
Open Settings → Marketplaces and click Reconnect next to the account. For eBay, sign in to the right eBay account in another browser tab first; for Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy, make sure the Treecat agent is running and log in again in the window that opens. Actions that were waiting on the login continue on their own once you reconnect.
Why does Treecat ask me to reconnect?
Marketplace login sessions expire every few months, and a marketplace can also end a session early, for example after a password change or a security check. When that happens:
- Treecat emails you and shows a Reconnect banner at the top of the app.
- The account shows as disconnected on Settings → Marketplaces.
- Actions for that marketplace show as Blocked in the Actions widget ("waiting on you — usually an expired marketplace login").
- Treecat cannot check that marketplace for sales until you reconnect.
How do I reconnect?
- Go to Settings → Marketplaces.
- Click Reconnect next to the account (or click Reconnect on the banner).
- eBay: sign in to the same eBay account in a separate tab first, then continue and approve.
- Poshmark, Mercari, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace, Etsy: make sure the agent is running, then log in again in the window that opens in the Treecat desktop app.
- Amazon, Shopify, Walmart: approve Treecat again on the marketplace's page.
- WooCommerce: click Reconnect on the store in the WooCommerce section of the same page.
Reconnect is always available, even while an account shows as connected. It refreshes the login on the same account, so it is a safe first step if a marketplace seems stuck.
If Poshmark or Mercari keeps failing, wait about 10 minutes after signing in, then try again.
Should I delete the marketplace and add it again?
No. Do not delete a marketplace account and add it again as a troubleshooting step. Treecat can then no longer match your old listings to the account and you can end up with orphaned items. Use Reconnect, and contact Treecat support if it still fails.
Poshmark, Mercari or Facebook says it is blocking or flagging my login
Those marketplaces sometimes detect automation and ask you to verify.
- Sign in to the marketplace in a normal browser on the same computer that runs the agent.
- Complete any verification or security check the marketplace asks for.
- Reconnect the account in Treecat.
- If a schedule (closet sharing, relist) was paused automatically, switch it back on.
Treecat paces its activity, and slows its Facebook activity in particular, to reduce the chance of being flagged.
What happens to my actions while I am disconnected?
Actions that need the login wait as Blocked and resume once you reconnect. Sales on that marketplace are not detected while it is disconnected, so after reconnecting, run Confirm Quantity on recent sales to make sure nothing sold twice.
How do I pause a marketplace on purpose?
If you want Treecat to stop all communication with a marketplace for a while, do not disconnect it. Turn off its Sync switch instead. See Manage marketplace accounts.
